Our Services
A comprehensive medical eye exam is a thorough evaluation of your visual system and eye health that includes measurement of visual acuity and refraction, assessment of eye movement and binocular function, intraocular pressure testing for glaucoma risk, slit-lamp examination of the anterior eye (eyelids, cornea, iris, and lens), and dilated fundus examination to inspect the retina, optic nerve, and macula. The exam also reviews your medical and ocular history, screens for systemic conditions that affect the eyes (such as diabetes and hypertension), and may include diagnostic imaging or visual field testing as indicated. This complete assessment establishes a baseline for eye health, detects early disease, and guides personalized prevention or treatment plans.
Eye surgery encompasses a range of procedures designed to diagnose, treat, and correct disorders of the eye and visual system. Common categories include cataract surgery to remove clouded natural lenses and restore vision, glaucoma procedures aimed at lowering intraocular pressure to preserve optic nerve function, and oculoplastic surgeries addressing eyelid malposition, droopy eyelids, tear duct obstructions, and removal of minor skin lesions and tumors. Each type is tailored to the patient’s specific diagnosis, overall eye health, and visual goals, with advances in microsurgical techniques, intraocular lenses, and imaging improving excellent outcomes and quick recovery.
Minor procedures may be performed in the office, others, such as cataract surgery are performed in an outpatient setting.
Laser procedures after cataract surgery and for glaucoma offer targeted, efficient treatments that restore and preserve vision with minimal downtime. For post-cataract patients, laser enhancement (commonly YAG laser capsulotomy) typically takes 10–15 minutes in-office and resolves clouding of the posterior capsule. For glaucoma, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) is a quick, often 15–30-minute outpatient procedure that lowers intraocular pressure by improving fluid outflow; it can delay or reduce the need for daily medications and has a favorable safety and cost profile over time. Both services are unique for their speed, low complication rates, and ability to be performed in-office with topical anesthesia, offering patients rapid recovery and measurable visual or pressure benefits.
